Each of these world class coffees have a unique story to tell of the care and attention by the producer groups and the benefits of fair trade to their communities.
    Costa Rican:
The Coope Tarrazu Co-operative is located in San Marcos de Tarrazu, Costa Rica. Their farmers cultivate the Caturra and Catuai Arabica varieties, producing Strictly High Grown coffee grown at elevations of up to 1900 meters and temperatures averaging the ideal 20 degrees Celsius. Of the 2,900 coffee farmers, a third are women and the harvesting process accounts for 40% of farming costs. The main activity is the processing and milling of coffee with ongoing commitments to sustainable production, environmental protection, transparency and accountability.
    Mexican:
Produced by FIECH (Federacion Indigena Ecologica de Chipas) which is a large cooperative that exports and mills on behalf of 15 small cooperatives from municipals across the state of Chipas, which is located in the South of Mexico, with 2800 members in 21 municipalities. Despite its rugged mountainous terrain, here lie the perfect conditions to grow coffee. The farming community is extremely poor and relies on coffee as their main source of income. FIECH was created in 1993 by three small cooperatives in the region and gained certification in 1996. Families have benefited from steadier and higher incomes, better practices and training, leading to increased output and quality. FIECH has renovated over 3000 hectares by planting some two millions new Arabica trees. The Cooperative uses profits to invest in children’s education, dormitories and medical facilities and invests in farmer education in organic agriculture.

    Honduran:
This coffee is from two cooperatives; COCAFCAL (Cooperativa Cafetalera Capucas Limitada) and COCAFELOL (The Organic Coffee Cooperative Limited The Labor Ocotepeque). COCAFCAL is a cooperative located in the Capacus region of western Honduras. The Celaque National Park is a cloud forest containing the country’s highest mountain. The cooperative represents 12 communities from the municipalities of San Pedro and Corquin, Copan. Their development programs have benefitted approximately 5,000 people in Las Capucas and surrounding regions. Learn More
