Made from 50% alpaca and 50% acrylic at a women's co-operative in northern Lima, Peru. Alpaca is one of the finest and most luxurious fibres in the world. It is known for its softness, warmth, lightweightedness and durability. This jumper is lightweight rather than chunky and thick, but still suprisingly warm. Alpaca doesn't pill and the fibre naturally repels dirt and moisture, so it stays fresh and shouldn't need washing very often. Alpaca is hypo-allergenic, naturally fire retardant and eco-friendly, and allows the skin to breathe. Alpacas are native to the high altitude South American Andean regions of Peru and Bolivia and are closely related to the llama. The addition of acrylic helps to keep the shape and prevent stretching, as well as making it affordable whilst still having a high content of alpaca.
